‎”Mantaphasmatodes”, the first new insect order named since the early nineteen hundreds, found in South Africa. Scientific American is carrying a report of a fantastic new find in the insect kingdom. South Africa can be proud to be home to the mantaphasmatode, an entirely new order of insect, the first to be named in one hundred years.

‎”Picker recognized the mantaphasmatdoes as animals he had known of for years. He had known them from habitats all around Cape Town. Picker had actually seen the Mantophasmatodes but had not realized they were something beyond another unnamed species.”
