  1. The bill (HR808) currently before the U.S. House of Representatives to establish a Cabinet-level U.S. Department of Peace sounds good on the surface and is heralded as “a historic measure (that) will augment our current problem-solving options, providing practical, nonviolent solutions to the problems of domestic and international conflict.” This pretty jargon rallies support from the masses that tend to take things at face-value. We should dig deeper, though, and ask ourselves just how this department would “strengthen nonmilitary means of peacemaking.”

The Peace Alliance Foundation, is a citizen lobbying group whose primary goal is to create a U.S. Department of Peace. It has widespread individual and organizational support, including Amnesty International, the National Organization For Women, the Order of International Co-Freemasonry, and numerous others listed on their website. Originally called The Global Renaissance Alliance, it was co-founded by Marianne Williamson and Neale Donald Walsch.

Williamson’s books, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles and Healing the Soul of America, espouses the New Age “spiritual principle” that global peace will be attained when we realize that we are all gods. Neale Donald Walsch is the best-selling author of Conversations with God. Walsch’s “god” also states that God and humanity are one. Both Williamson and Walsch preach a “new gospel” intended to replace the “old gospel.”

The “nonviolent solutions to the problems of domestic and international conflict” will be unmasked and we will become “partners in peace” when it is understood that “we are all one.” This is the hidden agenda of the proposed U.S. Department of Peace.

I urge readers to reject the proposal for a U.S. Department of Peace. Otherwise, America could have this cabinet-level department in the executive branch of Government with a Secretary of Peace at its head. The proposal brilliantly disguises an anti-Christian agenda at its core.
