Babies Against War — Please contribute to Children’s Anti-War Protest planned for next week, Wednesday
As part of next weeks Anti-War and Sanctions Against Israel, combined protest against the International Arms Fair, 20th – 24th September at the AirForce Base in Ysterplaat, Cape Town, we are calling for donations of children’s clothing and toys. Please bring tots shoes, baby clothing, anything that will remind our government and arms dealers that weapons kill infants, bombs are bad for babies, and landmines maim children. The result will be used as part of a public sculpture, mass demonstration and picket against the uselessness and futility of war.
The first protest will be held on the day the arms dealers arrive – Wednesday 20th September 2006 at 9am. The second protest will be held on Saturday 23rd September 2006 at 10am, and thousands of people from the Cape Town Anti-War Coalition, Sanctions Against Israel Coalition, Umzabalazo we Jubilee, Ceasefire, and the Western Cape Anti-Eviction Campaign are expected to attend.
If you can’t make it, please drop off items at the Workers International Vanguard League Headquarters at Community House.
